Description
The Traveling Superintendent will report to Regional Operations Leadership and be responsible for managing field operations on large-scale mechanical construction projects. The successful Traveling Superintendent will serve as the primary site leader, ensuring project execution aligns with client expectations, safety standards, and company objectives.
- Lead all day-to-day field operations for mechanical construction projects.
- Coordinate and direct subcontractors, craft labor, and project teams to maintain schedule and productivity goals.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage installation activities involving HVAC, piping, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum.
- Monitor project schedules, manpower planning, and site logistics to drive successful project delivery.
- Conduct site meetings, progress reporting, and workforce development activities while promoting a positive team culture.
Profile
For the Traveling Superintendent - Mechanical Construction we are seeking:
- Proven experience as a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or Lead Field Supervisor within mechanical construction.
- Strong background overseeing HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems installation.
- Experience managing large commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, mission-critical, or institutional construction projects.
- Ability to travel extensively and oversee projects in multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, safety management, and quality control processes.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, labor forces, and multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling platforms such as Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
