Traveling Tool Clerk

This Traveling Tool Clerk role supports active construction, renovation, remodel, repair, and property upgrade projects across Tryst hotel locations in the U.S. You will be responsible for managing tool inventory, signing tools in and out, tracking equipment usage, maintaining organization, and helping ensure field teams have the tools and supplies they need to keep projects moving. The right candidate is highly organized, dependable, watchful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in active jobsite and hospitality environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage tool inventory on active hotel construction and renovation jobsites
- Sign tools, equipment, and supplies in and out for field team members and contractors
- Track tool usage, returns, missing items, damaged equipment, and inventory levels
- Maintain accurate records of tools, equipment, materials, and assigned users
- Inspect tools and equipment for visible damage, wear, or safety concerns
- Organize tool storage areas, jobsite containers, and equipment staging areas
- Help ensure tools are clean, properly stored, and ready for use
- Monitor tool checkout procedures and help prevent loss, misuse, or misplaced equipment
- Communicate inventory needs, missing items, damaged tools, and supply shortages to supervisors
- Support receiving, unloading, staging, labeling, and organizing tools, supplies, and materials
- Assist with jobsite organization, cleanup, and general support as needed
- Follow company safety, uniform, PPE, and jobsite protocols at all times
- Coordinate with supervisors, field teams, general contractors, vendors, and other trades as directed
- Help keep projects on track by supporting organized tool flow and jobsite efficiency
- Maintain a professional demeanor on all jobsites and with team members, vendors, guests, and property teams
Qualifications
- Experience managing tools, equipment, inventory, warehouse stock, jobsite supplies, or similar materials preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to accurately sign tools in and out and maintain clear records
- Dependable, watchful, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned inventory
- Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and jobsite materials preferred
- Ability to identify damaged, missing, or unsafe tools and report concerns promptly
- Ability to travel frequently throughout the United States for extended project rotations
- Ability to work away from home for extended periods based on project needs
- Availability to mobilize quickly when assigned to active projects
- Comfortable with changing schedules, shifting jobsite conditions, and nontraditional hours
- Professional demeanor and full comfort working in LGBTQ+ centered spaces
- Adaptable and respectful when working with diverse teams, vendors, guests, and property environments
- Ability to follow direction, work independently when needed, and contribute as part of a traveling field team
- Strong reliability, punctuality, jobsite awareness, and commitment to safety
Pay and Benefits
- Pay: $25 to $30/hour, depending on experience
- Full-time W-2 position
- Year-round pay structure, including paid travel rotations, company-arranged flights and hotels, and paid meals while traveling
