DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Office of the City Controller is seeking a Treasury Analyst to support the City of Houston's banking, debt, and treasury operations. This role is responsible for day-to-day treasury functions, including banking management support, trade execution workflows, banking operations, cash management activities, and reconciliation across the City's treasury accounts.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong financial analytical skills, a solid understanding of banking structures and processes, precise operational capability for executing and managing banking transactions, and the ability to coordinate complex, high-volume workflows in a municipal environment.
Duties will include:
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable with discretion of walking, standing, etc. Essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three years of progressive professional experience closely related to the activities of the division are required.
A Masters degree in Business Administration, Accounting or a closely related field may be substituted for two years of the above experience requirement.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
None.
PREFERENCES
Preference will be given to candidates with Financial Accounting Experience with an emphasis on data analysis, financial reporting, and banking (depository services). SAP experience is ideal.
Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
