Description
The Curative Agent resolves title defects by researching ownership and record issues, coordinating with landowners, heirs, and other parties, and obtaining or preparing curative instruments needed to meet client and project requirements within established timelines.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
- Responsible for land work in one or more geographic areas.
- Review title opinions, title commitments and chains of title and obtain required title curative within a given time frame.
- Respond to requests for curative items from field brokers.
- Use various search engines and resources to locate addresses and phone numbers for individuals, identify family heirship and marital history of deceased owners.
- Discuss title defects and curative requirements with owners and entities and negotiate for acquisition of various curative related documents including but not limited to, Ratifications, Affidavits Of Heirship, Affidavits of Production History, Subordinations, Amendments, and Correction Instruments.
- Prepare curative related documents including, but not limited to, ratifications, Affidavits Of Heirship, Affidavits of Production History, Subordinations, Amendments, and Correction instruments.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines and adhere to Project budget.
- Remain current on company standard operating procedures (SOP) in accordance with client specific deliverables.
- Work with Supervisor to understand scope of work and project deliverables.
- Other duties as assigned or required
Job Responsibilities
- Minimum of five years of experience as a land professional with a minimum of three years in a curative acquisition role.
- Bachelor’s degree in energy management or other related fields.
- Prefer a registered professional Landman, certified professional Landman, or certified professional lease and title analyst
- Be highly knowledgeable in Oil & Gas mineral title and surface title requisites in the various states Percheron operates.
- Being knowledgeable of laws of infestation and Interstate succession in the various states Percheron Operates.
- Highly knowledgeable with course of action needed to cure various title defects.
- Quickly access pertinent information to allow for informed decisions and respond to the challenges of all assigned tasks.
- Must possess strong and professional communication skills including cold call outreach.
- Possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to think outside of the box to solve problems strategically.
- Have a strong knowledge of Percherons technological processes.
- Able to adapt in the progression of establishing, reviewing, and continually updating proper workflows to produce high standard and cost-efficient deliverables.
- Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player.
- Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).
- Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures
