Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and patient-focused Dental Treatment Coordinator to join our growing dental team in Mission Viejo, CA. The Treatment Coordinator serves as a key liaison between the doctor and the patient by helping patients understand their treatment plans, coordinating appointments, verifying insurance benefits, discussing financial options, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience from consultation through treatment completion.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent customer service skills, dental office experience, and the ability to build trust while helping patients make informed decisions about their oral health.
Schedule (days/hours):
Monday-Saturday 8am-5pm, 9am-6pm (closed Thursday)-bilingual would be great but not mandatory
Responsibilities:
- Present and explain recommended treatment plans in a clear, professional, and compassionate manner.
- Educate patients regarding treatment options, procedures, and expected outcomes.
- Verify dental insurance eligibility, benefits, limitations, and pre-authorizations.
- Prepare accurate treatment estimates and review financial arrangements with patients.
- Discuss payment options, financing programs, and payment plans when applicable.
- Schedule treatment appointments while maximizing provider productivity.
- Coordinate patient referrals to specialists when needed.
- Follow up with patients regarding unscheduled treatment to encourage case acceptance.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the practice management system.
- Collaborate closely with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and front office staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Monitor treatment acceptance and assist with achieving office production goals.
- Handle patient concerns professionally and resolve scheduling or financial issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and company policies.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming and positive patient experience.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of dental office experience, preferably as a Treatment Coordinator, Front Office Coordinator, or Dental Receptionist.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and treatment planning.
- Experience verifying dental insurance benefits and explaining coverage.
- Strong understanding of PPO insurance plans and patient financial responsibilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix)
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
Compensation:
$20-$23/hr
