The Tree Maintenance worker operates under the supervision of The Tree Maintenance Foreman. This position is responsible for performing basic tree maintenance, pruning, removing and caring for City of Augusta trees as directed.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates a variety of maintenance equipment, including skid steer loader (Bobcat) trencher, water tank truck, aerial truck, brush chipper, stump grinder, chain saws, and other related equipment as training allows.
- Ensures adherence to current safe work practices and procedures related to tree maintenance and removal activities including electrical hazard awareness.
- Rigs rope for tree removal, and trims trees.
- Responds to emergencies as needed.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
