Trek Base Camp Manager

Position OverviewTo provide a fun and welcoming environment for our High Adventure guests.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet SBR trek guests as they arriveProvide information about Summit evening program, dining hall hours, store hours, etc.Facilitate evening activities in trek campOversee the daily check-in, departure, and verification of trek guests for whitewaterWrite an end-of-season report to include operational improvements for your areaModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 18+General computer skills (Excel, Word, software navigation)Valid driver license and ability to obtain a Summit Driving PermitWilling to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and hike and up to 10 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45 - 55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
