Job Summary

Summary
Responsible for patient care and support within the outpatient setting through providing compassionate care, assisting in procedures, and collaborating effectively in a dynamic ambulatory care environment.

The Elfers Cardiovascular Center is comprised of 3 locations. They are located on the Newton-Wellesley Hospital main campus (2014 Washington Street, 2nd floor, in Newton, MA), 300 Boylston Street on Chestnut Hill, and on 1450 Highland Ave. in Needham. Our team provides a wide range of outpatient care for patients who have a high risk of heart disease. We provide diagnosis, management of acute and chronic conditions, and preventive care.

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Hybrid Triage RN to support our Cardiology practices in Chestnut Hill and Needham. This role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, and offers a hybrid work arrangement with 3 remote days per week and 2 onsite days at either our Chestnut Hill or Needham location.

Primarily focused on phone triage, the RN will handle patient interactions via telephone and provide guidance in accordance with guidelines/protocols - all within a clinically appropriate scope. As the majority of this role is telephone and Internet/EMR based, the triage RN will work with all patients and clinicians of the entire practice regardless of the location in which the providers see the patient's.

Essential Functions
-Deliver direct patient care and support, ensuring high nursing standards.
-Conduct patient assessments, devise care plans, and assist in outpatient procedures with a focus on patient comfort and safety.
-Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post-procedure care.
-Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
-Administer medications, perform IV therapy, and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with regulations.
-Uphold infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.


 

Qualifications

Education
Associate's Degree Nursing required and Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred

Licenses and Credentials
Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required

Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Various Issuers preferred

Experience
Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required and Ambulatory care or outpatient experience 1-2 years preferred
