Salary- $74,000-$76,000 per year based on experienceJob Type-Full-Time- ExemptWork Location-Must be located in South DakotaJob Description-Analyze and disseminate public health data related to tribal and minority populations to support situational awareness, disease surveillance, and informed decision-making.Provide epidemiology support and consultation to public health teams and tribal and minority health organizations on disease surveillance, testing, and other epidemiologic needs.Support disease and outbreak investigations, including initiating cases for investigation, assisting with contact information, and responding to reported cases and potential exposures.Manage and maintain case and contact data in Maven, including uploading close-contact lists, performing person and case deduplication, and ensuring records are accurate and complete.Review completed cases and contacts to determine appropriate case classifications and ensure accurate reporting to the CDC and closure within Maven.Support respiratory disease surveillance and testing, including consultation related to influenza, COVID-19, and other respiratory pathogens.Review, test, and support the development of public health dashboards, providing epidemiologic expertise to the informatics team and testing dashboard enhancements before release.Generate SAS reports, data outputs, and other reports to support daily public health processes, surveillance activities, and program needs.Monitor and report on grant milestones and assist with documentation and reporting requirements associated with funded programs.Participate in public health communication and on-call activities, including responding to disease reports and potential rabies exposures, communicating with partners, and presenting public health information during webinars or other group settings.Other duties as assignedJob Qualifications-A master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or related field.Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of and experience with medical records, laboratory reports and other related documentation.Experience with SAS programming is preferred but not required, as education in this area is provided.Benefits-Health, Dental, and Life InsuranceHealth Savings Account OptionsSouth Dakota RetirementSick LeaveCompany Website-Bhssc.org
