Yakima Valley College is accepting applications for a TRiO SSS Program Assistant committed to fostering a culture of academic success for underrepresented populations. This is a part-time, classified position with a full state benefits package. This position is grant-funded and contingent upon available funding.
TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) is an academic support program that serves approximately 200 low-income, first-generation students and students with disabilities. TRiO SSS is part of the Student Services Division.
Reporting to the TRiO SSS Director, the TRiO SSS Program Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the TRiO Student Support Services program. This position works closely with the Director and the TRiO SSS Coordinator to support program participants, maintain accurate program records, schedule student appointments, and assist with referrals to campus resources.

Retirement and Deferred Compensation

Employees also have the ability to participate in the Deferred Compensation Program (DCP), a supplemental retirement savings program that allows you control over the amount of pre-tax salary dollars you defer as well as the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.

Paid Leave and Other Incentives
In addition to the benefits above, full time classifed employees can accrue up to 25 days of vacation, 12 sick days, and 3 personal days each year. Full time employees are also able to take advantage of waived tuition, scholarships and other professional development opportunities.
