Position Overview: As a Trip Assistant, you're not just helping freight move — you’re the behind-the-scenes champion keeping our operations running smoothly across road, rail, and sea. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love solving problems on the fly, and want to play a vital role in connecting people and products across the country, this role is for you.
You’ll be the heartbeat of planning, working closely with drivers, terminals, and key partners to ensure everything stays on track. From real-time shipment tracking to making sure our drivers have everything they need to succeed, you’ll tackle operational challenges head-on and help deliver excellence every step of the way.
Location: Moncton, NB
Schedule: 2/2/3 Rotation | 7:00am - 7:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Keep safety and operational procedures top of mind in all you do
- Collaborate with business partners and customers to keep freight moving
- Maximize equipment use and avoid unnecessary costs through smart planning
- Help plan cost-effective, efficient transit routes
- Keep drivers informed and equipped with all paperwork and trip details
- Track shipments, troubleshoot delays, and work with carriers to keep things moving
- Take care of admin tasks like billing, RV creation, and reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve and share them with the team
- Jump into meetings, training, and team huddles to stay aligned
- Help plan driver vacation coverage and update leadership on transit visibility
- Support the Operations Manager as business needs evolve
