Trip Drivers
Summary:
This position seeks individuals available on various evenings and weekends to safely transport students and other authorized persons on extracurricular and special or extra activity trips as authorized by the school district officials. Trips are assigned from a rotation list based on driver availability.

As outlined by and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) of Local 1135-MT of the Washington State Council Of County And City Employees, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, and Policies and Procedures of Mead School District. The salary range for non-contract trip drivers is $21.25 to $22.37. If a non-contract trip driver works a minimum of 90 Days per school year, after two (2) years their hourly rate will increase to 97% of bus driver Step 1. After working a minimum of 90 Days per school year for three (3) years, their hourly rate will increase to 100% of bus driver Step 1.
Trip Drivers will accrue 1 hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Trip Drivers who work 630 hours will become benefit-eligible for the remainder of the school year. Standard benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Long-Term Disability. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
A person working in this position will exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly while carrying, pushing, and/or pulling to move objects. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or ordinary infectious diseases carried by students.
Verification of identity and United States work authorization must be completed before employment commences. The successful candidate for this position must be fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
