    Part time Afternoon Class B/C Route Driver

    -Class B

    -Class C-Must have at least 2 years of verifiable experience driving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) over 10,001 lbs. GVW

    Airport Drayage Company Inc., (ADC) is a local airfreight pickup, transport, and delivery-company with a presence in the Pacific Northwest since 1959. Family owned and operated, ADC is currently operating with approx. 50 employees, 50 Tractors/Straight trucks (NEWER AND WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLES!) with terminals in Portland, OR (Hq.), Salem, OR, and Tumwater, WA.

    Job Purpose: Picks, transports and delivers palletized freight by operating a straight truck. An average day will normally require 8 to 20 stops depending upon distance between points.

    Shift: Starting time: 2:00 PM, Monday thru Friday. RETURN HOME DAILY

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Determines condition of vehicle by inspecting vehicle before and after use.
    • Ensures correct loading of vehicle by loading product or material.
    • Maintains safe vehicle operation and protects load by complying with organizational policies and procedures, highway rules and regulations.
    • Utilizes Material handling equipment (forklift, pallet-jack, dolly and hand-truck) and uses packaging supplies as needed to protect cargo.
    • Maintains records by conscientious operation of Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and Electronic DVIR, obtaining shipper and receiver authorizations and managing and notating other related paperwork.
    • Supports and contributes to the company's overall safety program.
    • Continually strives and is committed to self-improvement as a transportation professional.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing individual results as assigned and assists other drivers load or unload, if waiting in the warehouse.

    Skills/Qualifications:

    • Must be 21 years or older
    • Must have a valid driver’s license
    • Must pass a background check
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests and DOT physical
    • Ability to lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Climb in and out of a vehicle and walk up and down stairs as required in all weather conditions
    • Ability to stand for multiple hours per day and work in a physically demanding environment.
    • General knowledge of Oregon/Washington cities
    • Physical Ability to Utilize Hand-trucks and Pallet-jacks
    • Must be able to speak, read and write in English

    • PTO awarded, as accrued, during employment at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked
