The Barry Callebaut local truck driver will be responsible for the safe and secure transportation of all Barry Callebaut goods throughout the Barry Callebaut network. This is a private fleet operation.
Working hours: Monday to Friday from 5:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Key responsibilities include:
Safety compliance- Following all safety regulations related to truck operation, including all regulations concerning local, state, and federal regulations.
Driving-To safely transport Barry Callebaut materials from within your working state. This would include traveling to and from any Barry Callebaut manufacturing sites, warehouses, and vendors professionally.
Ensure accuracy of all Bill Of Ladings, by ensuring that products are of and for Barry Callebaut and the accuracy of same, and pick-up and delivery as instructed.
Conduct Pre/Post trip inspections- They are mandatory for commercial motor vehicle drivers, requiring them to check key components like service brakes, parking brakes, steering mechanism, lights, tires, horns, windshield wipers, rear-vision mirrors, and coupling devices before operating the vehicle, ensuring the vehicle is in safe working order.
Route Planning- Familiarizing oneself with routes, navigating through different areas, and adjusting to changing traffic conditions.
Documentation-Maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and other necessary paperwork.
Customer service-Interacting with customers at delivery points, ensuring timely deliveries and the utmost professionalism.
FMCSA HOS- Driver must know, understand, and practice all Hours of Service rules and regulations for North America
About you:
High school diploma or equivalent, computer experience a plus.
Understanding North American Traffic laws/DOT regulations.
Must be at least 21 years old (DOT requirement).
Minimum of 2 years verifiable truck driving / commercial driving experience.
Minimum 1 year of Reefer experience.
CDL Class A -Clean driving record, with no more than 2 moving violations within the last 2 years.
Working knowledge of electronic logging devices for DOT FMCSA rules governing the Hours of Service.
Listening and oral communication skills, with the ability to read and write.
Time and Priority Management skills are required.
