Truck & Forklift Maintenance Mechanic

Hiring a Truck and Forklift Maintenance Mechanic inspects, diagnoses, and repairs industrial material handling equipment and commercial trucks. They perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, and ensure all equipment complies with safety regulations to minimize operational downtime

Key Responsibilities

• Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled services, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication on electric, diesel, gas, and propane-powered equipment.

• Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, and hydraulic mast malfunctions using computerized testing and diagnostic equipment.

• Compliance & Safety: Perform rigorous safety inspections before returning equipment to the warehouse or road, removing unsafe vehicles from operation.
  
   Document all repairs, parts used, and labor hours in service management logs or digital shop systems.

• Parts Management: Research and order replacement components through dealership or vendor parts departments.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED combined with trade/vocational schooling and 2+ years of hands-on heavy equipment or automotive repair experience.

• Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems, internal combustion engines, and 12V to 48V battery diagnostics.

• Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy components (up to 75 lbs) and perform physical tasks in various weather conditions and shop environments
