POSITION SUMMARY

The True West Assistant Manager supports the operational execution of Steamboat’s Premium Experience program for both seasonal and daily guests.  The Asst. Manager supports the Manager and front line staff in daily operations to provide premium level guest experience to members and daily guests.  The Asst. Manager will be assigned specific projects which may include concierge services, a valet services for automobiles and equipment, club amenities and daily complimentary breakfast.  This role focuses on delivering a high-touch, seamless premium guest journey while maintaining operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Act as Manager on Duty in the absence of the True West Manager.

  • Provide leadership and be a role model of behavior for front line valet and concierge team

  • Train staff on True West processes

  • Assist with written SOP and SET maintenance at the direction of the True West Manager.

  • Represent and hold yourself and your team accountable to the highest level of Steamboat Service Excellence to fulfill expectations of service by club level members at Steamboat Resort. 

  • Maintain an efficient automobile valet service

  • Maintain the ski/snowboard equipment organization system.

  • Physically transport equipment; move and store ski equipment

  • Assist members with special requests and issue resolution

  • Assist other employees when needed

  • Prioritize safety for staff and guests. 

  • Maintain secure ski storage and facilities.

  • Open and Close True West Club as scheduled and according to set procedures.

  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of leadership experience or training required.

  • Knowledge of the ski mountain and base area, preferred

  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards

  • Problem solve in a highly effective manner and maintain positive relationships with guests and staff, including management, subordinates and co-workers

  • Adhere to all safety policies

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay: Starting at $22.50 per hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis

  • Stand for long periods of time and climb stairs frequently

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under Steamboats company insurance plan.

  • Work outside, often in inclement weather performing snow removal and carrying ski equipment between buildings. 

  • Must speak clearly and effectively in English

  • Must clear a background check.
