    Title: Trumpf 5-Axis Laser Operator

    Job Type: Full-Time
    Shift: Monday – Friday: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM | Saturday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM(as needed) Typically 55 hours per week
    Pay: $22.00–$28.00/hour (based on experience)
    Type: Contract-to-Hire

    Position Overview

    We are seeking an experienced Trumpf 5-Axis Laser Operator to set up, program, and operate advanced 3D laser cutting equipment in a sheet metal manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for producing high-precision parts while ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with Trumpf 5-axis laser systems, TruTops software, blueprint reading, and precision measuring equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Set up, calibrate, and operate Trumpf 5-axis laser cutting machines. 
    • Program, edit, and optimize laser programs using TruTops software. 
    • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. 
    • Perform machine setup, tooling adjustments, and program modifications as needed. 
    • Monitor production and make machine adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency. 
    • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools. 
    • Troubleshoot machine and production issues to minimize downtime. 
    • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment and work areas clean. 
    • Record production information using the company's ERP system. 
    • Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve production concerns. 
    • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards. 
    • Perform additional duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience programming and operating Trumpf 5-axis laser systems. 
    • Experience using Trumpf TruTops software. 
    • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and 3D laser cutting processes. 
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and CAD drawings. 
    • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. 
    • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn ERP software. 
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
    • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality. 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with Epicor ERP or similar manufacturing software. 
    • Experience troubleshooting and optimizing laser cutting programs. 
    • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices. 

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift. 
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. 
    • Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting. 
    • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. 

    Work Environment

    • Manufacturing environment supporting sheet metal production. 
    • Frequent interaction with laser cutting equipment and production machinery. 
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required. 
    • Overtime and Saturday work may be required based on production needs.
