We have an outstanding leadership opportunity to work in a beautiful work environment and provide oversight of the daily Lodge room and cabin operations, including service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, standards compliance revenue generation, and financial measurements. Paris Landing State Park Golf Course in Buchanan, TN. The Golf Course Superintendent position is an integral component to the operations of the golf course. The position is a managerial role, overseeing the maintenance crew in the upkeep and care of a championship 18-hole golf course.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for all golf course grounds maintenance and staff.
Perform routine inspections for leaks and other potential maintenance deficiencies with the irrigation system, as well as checking the course for any possible improper irrigation.
Ability to operate and/or supervise the operation of a variety of tools and equipment to mow fairways, greens, tees, and roughs; aerate, top-dress, and fertilize greens and tees; and other grounds maintenance as required.
Participate and/or supervise the mixing and spraying of herbicides, fungicides, and other plant protective products, ensuring all chemicals are properly used and stored.
Supervise and coach employees on how to perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently to achieve objectives.
Maintain required operations records in accordance with department policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in agronomy, horticulture, or other agricultural field related to plant and soil science or turf management; experience equivalent to three years of increasingly responsible and skilled full-time golf course maintenance work, including the care and maintenance of greens, will be considered as a substitute for a degree.
Preference may be given to candidates having experience with operating golf course standard irrigation systems and ensuring that these systems run at a standard to maintain high-quality turfgrass, possess a Tennessee pesticide applicators license or have the ability to obtain one within six months of employment, and/or possess a Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA) Class A superintendent membership.
