ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
Our client is seeking a senior Test Support Software Engineer with extensive spacecraft operations and test experience. This role leads software engineering teams supporting integration and test systems, procedures, and complex spacecraft test environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Lead and direct software engineering teams developing integration and test systems and procedures
· Support spacecraft operations, integration, and test activities
· Develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements
· Provide software architecture input, including hardware/software trade-offs, reuse, and COTS/GOTS solutions
· Design, implement, integrate, and test software applications
· Apply appropriate software engineering and development methodologies
· Ensure software engineering activities follow industry standards and repeatable processes
· Manage technical risks, cost, schedule, and project execution
· Review and test software components for compliance with design requirements and document results
· Provide electrical engineering expertise for complex system design, architecture, procurement, integration, and testing
· Integrate electrical components into complex hardware and software systems
· Direct electrical installation, maintenance, documentation, and testing activities
· Prepare technical reports and recommendations related to electrical technologies and user requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
· Extensive experience supporting spacecraft operations, integration, and testing
· Experience leading software engineering teams in complex integration and test environments
· Strong experience developing and integrating software systems for mission-critical applications
· Experience with software requirements, architecture, testing, and verification
· Knowledge of hardware/software integration and electrical systems
· Experience with software development methodologies, COTS/GOTS solutions, and system-level requirements analysis
· Strong project leadership, risk management, and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate is a senior software engineer and technical leader with extensive spacecraft operations and test experience. The candidate should be comfortable directing multidisciplinary engineering teams and working across software, electrical, hardware, integration, and test activities within complex aerospace or defense programs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
