Accountant/Bookkeeper
Work closely with department leadership to develop, maintain, and forecast program budgets, ensuring financial plans support both current operations and long-term objectives. Evaluate financial results and spending activity, identify budget variances and trends, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance and resource allocation. Coordinate with finance and program teams to oversee expense tracking, reimbursement processes, and compliance with city, state, and funding source requirements. Assist with the financial planning and budgeting needs of new programs, grants, and funding opportunities, including the preparation of supporting documentation and submissions. Prepare financial reports, support special projects, and contribute to ongoing budgeting, forecasting, and operational initiatives across the organization.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within a nonprofit or social services organization, with exposure to government-funded programs and financial reporting requirements. Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, compliance, internal controls, and budget-to-actual reporting, with the ability to identify variances and support financial planning efforts. Ability to interpret and apply financial concepts, perform quantitative analysis, and work with financial data to support decision-making. Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management systems, such as Sage Intacct, Financial Edge, or similar ERP platforms. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including Pivot Tables, reporting tools, and data analysis functions, as well as Word and PowerPoint.
