POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tubing Operator is responsible for the efficient operation of various drawboard types, including vertical presses, as well as automated cutting equipment to produce seamless cold-drawn tubing. This role involves following customer specifications and drawings to ensure high-quality production for global shipment. The Operator is responsible for executing processes that enhance the properties of steel to meet specific machinability requirements, ensures precision and consistency throughout the manufacturing process, contributing to the company's ability to meet customer demands worldwide.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Set-up and operate hydraulic tube pointer.
  • Set-up and operate swaging machine.
  • Set-up and operate Turks Head for the manufacturing of shaped tubing.
  • Set-up and operate hydraulic and chain draw-boards with supervision.
  • Close jobs as appropriate in ERP system
  • Lift and move products on shop floor.
  • Take initiative to seek next project when work order completed.
  • Maintaining high levels of safety awareness not only for self but others as well
  • Contribute to problem solving with process and procedure issues to improve quality and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by Leads, Supervisors, and/or Operations Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of MS Office
  • Good math and technical skills
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards and testing techniques.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. READING SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and comprehend materials in English.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply ‘common sense’ understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
