Responsible To: Director of Preschool Services
Supervises: Assistant teachers, Caregivers, Volunteers, and children in the program.
Job Responsibilities:
Greets children and their parents warmly and with enthusiasm each morning.
Speaks with each family at pick-up to touch base about the child's day.
Utilizes Brightwheel to communicate with parents and keep records.
Engages in activities with the class; saves computer and planning for naptime.
Maintains an open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with each child and family
Directs assistant teachers and caregivers to complete needed tasks.
Works with children on potty training and assists with bodily care routines
Maintains an effective environment for learning and care through the use of age-appropriate
activities including but not limited to small and large groups, sensory, art, music, movement,
math, science and literacy.

Understands and implements injury policies and parent notification as necessary.
Become familiar with emergency procedures and carry out necessary drills.
Objectively writes anecdotal notes and maintains a COR portfolio for each child.
Follows all rules and regulations established with the Bureau of Children and Adult Licensing of
the Michigan Department of Human Services
Acts as a positive liaison for parents/guardians as they visit the school
Collaborates with parents and other staff to help the children control behavior by using a
positive and consistent approach

Physical Requirements:

Must have the physical stamina to care for energetic young children.

Work Year:
Options for 9 or 12 months are available
Starts August 25, 2026
Working Conditions:
Program hours are 7:15-6:00pm
Monday-Friday 40 hours
Staff will work an 8 hour day within that time frame.
Salary:
$18.42-20.81/hourly
Hourly rate based on qualifications and experience
