Turf Technician - Full Time
Summary: The Turf Technician plays a vital role in the daily maintenance and enhancement of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This position ensures optimal playing conditions and aesthetic appeal by performing a variety of turf care and equipment operation tasks in alignment with the Atlanta Athletic Club's mission and values.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare the golf course for daily play, ensuring high-quality playing conditions
- Operate and maintain turf equipment including mowers for greens, fairways, tees, collars, approaches, and roughs
- Maintain and groom bunkers, including hand raking and edging
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for turf and landscape projects
- Conduct daily equipment checks and report issues to the Superintendent or Equipment Manager
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of safety and teamwork
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn turf care practices and equipment operation
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform manual labor in varying weather conditions
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, pulling, extensive walking and standing
- Familiarity with safety equipment and procedures (e.g., respirators, gloves, ear/eye protection, boots)
- Previous experience in golf course or landscape maintenance is a plus but not required
