Tutor

Summary:The Tutorisresponsibleforhelpingprogramparticipants by providingacademicsupportrelatedtopreparation to the State Regents Exams. The Tutor will work one-on one with each studentassignedor small groups to support student subject content readiness. Subjects focus: Algebra OR USHistory,Global History OR Living Environment OR English LanguageArts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may beassigned.

• Follow proposed working hoursschedule
  • Arrive on time and ready towork
  • Sign In and Out upon arrival anddeparture
  • Provide one on one support to studentsassigned
  • Track and record students receiving support (using sign in sheets and/or onlinetool)
  • Assist Programs in their administrative tasks such as: answering the phone, faxing, filing&organizing

Position Type and Expected Hours ofWork:

Days and hours are generally Monday to Friday11am-4pm.

• Ability and patience to work with young people, recognizing their exuberance and juvenilebehavior,particularly in groupsettings.
• Remain in a stationary position either working at a computer or monitoringactivities.

Qualifications

Education and/or experiencerequired:

• High School Diploma or GED, working towards AA or BA degree, aplus.

Skills, Licenses, and/or competenciesrequired:

• Successfully comply withDOE
• Excellent interpersonal and communicationskills.

Hourly Range: $18-$20
