About Us

Brompton Hall School is based within private grounds in the pretty village of Brompton-by-Sawdon and is a Special Education School for pupils aged between 8 and 16 years, who have an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Our Multi Academy Trust is a group of inspirational and aspirational mainstream and specialist schools in North Yorkshire, Hull and South Yorkshire whose main objective is to ensure that all pupils make exceptional progress through the development of outstanding staff.

You can find out about recent activities via our Instagram page.

Our Pupils

We are a specialist school for pupils aged 8 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Our pupils join us from mainstream schools because they benefit from a setting that can provide additional behavioural support and a more personalised approach to helping them succeed.

We use a therapeutic approach called Thrive to help support children and young people with their emotional and social development.

The Thrive approach offers practical strategies and techniques, built around online assessments that identify children's emotional development and provides action plans for their individual needs.

Research has shown that how we behave is linked to how we feel, and our emotions are linked to how we learn. By teaching children to recognise and notice these feelings and emotions it can help with their development and learning.

At Brompton Hall, we believe every young person deserves a fresh start, a sense of belonging, and the chance to thrive. We are committed to helping each student rediscover their strengths, rebuild trust, and reimagine their future.

Our Opportunity

Are you an experienced and engaging Tutor looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference? We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and resilient Tutor to join our expanding team and support the delivery of our Gateway provision. This unique role focuses on working with small groups of Key Stage 4 pupils who are disengaged from education and require bespoke support to re-engage with learning.

As a key member of the Gateway team, you will be the first point of contact for pupils and their families, building positive relationships that encourage attendance, participation and progress. Through the planning and delivery of innovative classroom-based learning, enrichment opportunities and off-site activities, you will help create meaningful educational experiences that inspire young people to reconnect with their learning journey.

This role is ideal for someone who can think creatively, adapt their approach to meet individual needs, and develop engaging learning opportunities that motivate pupils who may have previously experienced barriers to education. You will use your skills, knowledge and initiative to deliver personalised learning programmes, working closely with pupils, families and colleagues to support successful outcomes.

The role is wonderfully varied and will involve working both within and beyond the classroom environment. You will lead and support small group sessions, deliver enrichment activities, and facilitate learning experiences in a range of settings. You will be confident in building rapport, maintaining high expectations, and creating positive relationships that help pupils develop confidence, resilience and a renewed engagement with education.

  • Understanding of National Curriculum, and other codes of practice eg SEN, Equalities
  • GCSE English and Maths Grade A-C (or equivalent - eg Certificate in Adult Literacy / Numeracy Level 2)
  • The ability to build strong relationships with children, motivating and developing them
  • A passion for seeing young people succeed
  • Resilience

 We offer:

  • A supportive working environment
  • A commitment to professional development
  • An opportunity to work with a dynamic team
  • Fantastic pupils who deserve the best education
  • Continued investment in your own professional development as part of the Trust
