Works directly with students, either in one-on-one or small groups to provide academic tutorial assistance, helping students become independent learners that persevere and reach their academic goals.

Supports the department's goal of providing students with supplemental academic support by:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group tutoring support
  • Providing subject-specific content strategies, attuned to different learning styles and preferences, to help students understand key concepts learned in class
  • Providing direct assistance in the use of equipment and learning materials needed for student's success
  • Conducting "class visits" and assisting with publicizing the College's tutoring services
  • Assisting with the maintenance of accurate records in accordance to stated deadlines
  • Completing all necessary paperwork accurately and according to stated deadlines
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of departmental instructional materials
  • Performing other duties as assigned

  • Associate's in a field commensurate with needs of the department.

    • However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.
    • Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite

    Set-rate non-bargaining part-time position: This is a part-time non-bargaining unit position, with the following set rate of pay: $18.03/hour.
