Position Title: TV Station Manager

Department: Broadcast & Audio-Visual Srvcs

Term of Assignment: Continuing

Term End Date, If Applicable:

FLSA Status: Exempt = not eligible for overtime

Work Schedule: Traditionally Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required.

Salary: Targeted Salary Range: $62,000-$66,500

Travel: Less than 10%

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: Lead the day-to-day operation and continued development of WNMU-TV, providing strong leadership to a team of professional and student employees while advancing the station''s programming, community engagement, fundraising, student learning and operational goals. Coordinate national programming, local productions, and daily station activities while ensuring regulatory compliance. Support donor and underwriting development through integrated on-air and digital fundraising efforts. Work with engineering and programming staff to monitor technical performance, review audience data, and assist with coordinating community outreach. Support student experiential learning and help develop regional partnerships that advance the station's long-term sustainability.

Required Minimum Work Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in television production, broadcast operations, public media, or a closely related field, preferably in a non-commercial environment.

Two years'' experience with unit management, leadership or supervision.

Demonstrated experience planning and completing projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties:

Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and ability to identify opportunities and problems, develop solutions, and take action with limited supervision.

Knowledge of and direct hands-on experience with broadcast television systems and video production equipment.

Time management skills and the ability to work on concurrent projects.

Strong written communication skills, the ability to write in script format, and the ability to speak in public on industry-related topics.

Understanding of non-commercial fundraising.

PC or Mac computer skills.

Demonstrated ability to plan and execute projects through completion and meet external deadlines.

Interpersonal skills.

Ability to calm stressful situations.

Additional Desirable Qualifications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Bachelor''s Degree in Broadcasting, Communications, or related field.

One year of experience as a video producer/director.

Basic knowledge of broadcast laws and FCC regulations and rules.

Understanding of video and audio production technologies and the fundamental engineering concepts that are associated with digital systems.

On-air experience.

Understanding of the public media system and fundraising concepts.

Experience using data analytics to drive programming decisions.

Masters degree and/or professional industry certifications.
