UAW: Production Assistant II is responsible for the assembly and framework of each unit. This process is the first step in building a unit.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints and prepare the aluminum (skins) to be mounted on the units frame (skeleton).
Use simple hand tools such as drills, pop rivet guns, clamps, measuring tape, etc.
Clean and prepare the units surfaces using AP1-11.
Utilizing highly adhesive mounting tapes.
Train and qualify to operate a sizeable overhead crane for positioning and relocating partial and completed units.
Prepare units for painting.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Must be able to read and use measuring tape.
Be able to read and interpret blueprints and other technical engineering documents provided.
Be able to read, comprehend, and follow written work instructions and plans.
Operate Windows and OS2 computers and mobile devices and use the appropriate authorized business applications, including PYRO and Outlook. Internal
Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Demonstrate flexibility with work schedule and assignments to meet production demand.
Demonstrate a constant awareness of safety issues, use equipment correctly, and immediately report any hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors to the appropriate Supervisor or Group Lead.
Maintain all required training, qualifications, and certifications as required. Include, but not be limited to, required Environmental, Health, and Safety Training, Job Training Qualifications, and additional technical or skill-specific Certifications as outlined in the appropriate Work Center Work Instructions.
Requires some physical ability, such as moderate lifting, etc. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
