Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Possess a valid drivers license State of New Mexico
Preferred Qualifications
Some trade school education or documented experience with an emphasis on electrical and mechanical equipment and metal fabrication
Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, pumps and equipment used in and around water/wastewater systems
Ability to learn maintenance computer skills within 6 months
Knowledge of combustion engines and electric motors and safety principles and practices

Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of tasks regarding preventive and corrective maintenance on water and/or wastewater treatment plants and related facilities equipment on an assigned shift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs and assists in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electro-mechanical machinery and equipment
Performs or assists in the replacement of bearings in motors, pumps or other equipment
Tightens and adjusts chains
Removes and installs new or existing equipment or machinery
Operates hoists, lifts and machinery
Chips and paints
Operates emergency power generation equipment
Performs plumbing and pipefitting tasks as required
Assists in keeping maintenance records
Maintains and operates computer maintenance management system as required
Works safely and adheres to established safety procedures
Follows written and oral instructions
Ability to carry and respond to pages as requested by management
Ability and willingness to work on-call shifts, as requested, including being fit and able to respond to call-ins in a timely manner
Performs other duties as assigned
