    Job description:

    Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices nationwide. We are seeking highly skilled and safety-conscious UHP Blaster to join our team in Kittery, ME.

    The UHP (Ultra-High Pressure) Blaster will be responsible for utilizing specialized equipment to clean, prepare, and restore various surfaces through high-pressure water blasting techniques. This role is essential in ensuring surfaces are properly prepared for subsequent coating or finishing processes, adhering to strict safety standards and quality specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction site work, surface preparation, and industrial painting, with a keen eye for detail and safety.

    Duties

    • Operate ultra-high pressure water blasting equipment to remove paint, rust, scale, and other contaminants from diverse surfaces including concrete, steel, masonry, and stucco.
    • Follow detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately target areas requiring cleaning or restoration.
    • Prepare surfaces through proper surface cleaning methods to ensure optimal adhesion for coatings or finishes.
    • Adhere to all safety regulations by utilizing appropriate respiratory protection, personal protective equipment (PPE), and following established safety protocols.
    • Inspect work areas regularly to identify potential hazards or equipment malfunctions and report issues promptly.
    • Collaborate with project teams to interpret technical specifications and ensure work aligns with project requirements.
    • Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, cleaning, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal operation.
    • Assist with related tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, plastering, or minor repairs as needed on construction sites.
    • Support renovation and restoration projects by preparing surfaces for painting or finishing work.
    • Document completed work accurately and communicate progress effectively with supervisors.

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on surface preparation or industrial cleaning.
    • Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings.
    • Familiarity with construction painting surface preparation techniques including conventional spraying and airless paint spraying.
    • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and related equipment safely.
    • Understanding of safety regulations related to industrial blasting operations and respiratory protection measures.
    • Experience with construction spray painting, commercial painting, residential painting, and industrial painting processes.
    • Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
    • Skills in carpentry (trim carpentry, frame carpentry), masonry (stucco), welding, concrete finishing, plastering, caulking, fixture installation, renovation work, and maintenance tasks are advantageous.
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical schematics and blueprints accurately.
    • Excellent physical stamina for working at heights or in confined spaces; commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
