Job Description

We are seeking an experienced UI Lead to join our team in Malvern, PA. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in leading UI application design and development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality enterprise applications. Prior experience working with Vanguard is highly preferred.

The UI Lead will be responsible for driving technical design, mentoring development teams, participating in design reviews, and ensuring successful delivery using best practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of enterprise UI applications.
• Translate UI and mid-tier design specifications, prototypes, and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Convert business and functional requirements into detailed system design.
• Collaborate closely with UI Development Leads, Mid-Tier Development Leads, Business Systems Analysts (BSAs), Designers, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in architecture and design review sessions to ensure adherence to enterprise standards.
• Guide and mentor development team members by providing technical leadership and resolving complex technical issues.
• Follow and promote Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies throughout the development lifecycle.
• Develop high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Perform Unit Testing and support Integration Testing activities.
• Participate in peer code reviews and coordinate code reviews with the Vanguard UI Development Lead.
• Analyze defects, verify functionality, determine root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Communicate technical clarifications with UI Leads, Mid-Tier Leads, Designers, and BSAs whenever required.
• Identify project risks, raise issues proactively, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and enterprise quality guidelines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

• Strong experience leading UI application development for enterprise-scale applications.
• Expertise in converting functional requirements into technical design and system architecture.
• Experience with UI design specifications, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React.
• Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience integrating UI applications with RESTful APIs and mid-tier services.
• Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD), Unit Testing, and Integration Testing.
• Experience conducting code reviews and mentoring development teams.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
