As a UI / UX Designer in Timisoara, Romania you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world's payments ecosystem!

The purpose of the UI / UX Designer is:

ACI Merchant Products is seeking a UX Designer to lead interface design across our eCommerce and omni‑Commerce payment solutions. In this role, you will design intuitive, scalable, and conversion‑focused user experiences for merchants, partners, consumers and internal users operating in complex payment environments.

You will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Research to translate business and user needs into elegant interface designs that support global commerce across channels (online, mobile, in‑store, and emerging touchpoints).

A typical day at ACI for a UI / UX Designer is:

Interface & Experience Design

  • Design end‑to‑end user interfaces for eCommerce and omni‑commerce products, including merchant dashboards, checkout flows, configuration tools, and operational consoles
  • Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high‑fidelity UI designs that balance usability, scalability, and brand consistency
  • Optimize experiences for conversion, performance, accessibility, and usability across devices and channels

Product Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Product Managers to shape requirements, define UX strategy, and align design decisions with business goals
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure designs are feasible, clearly specified, and implemented with high quality
  • Contribute to product discovery by participating in ideation, design reviews, and roadmap discussions

Design Systems & Consistency

  • Contribute to and evolve ACI's design system, ensuring consistency across merchant and consumer‑facing interfaces
  • Apply and advocate for UX best practices, accessibility standards (WCAG), and platform guidelines

User‑Centered Design

  • Incorporate user research insights, data, and feedback into design decisions
  • Validate designs through usability testing, iteration, and continuous improvement
  • Design for global markets, considering localization, regulatory, and cultural nuances

Knowledge, Skills and Experience needed to succeed in this role:

  • 4+ years of experience in UX / UI design for complex digital products
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating interface design for web‑based applications, ideally in eCommerce, payments, fintech, or SaaS
  • Proven ability to design complex workflows and data‑rich interfaces
  • Proficiency with modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
  • Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility, and interaction patterns
  • Strong communication skills and experience working in cross‑functional product teams
