UL508A Control Systems Panel Fabrication Specialist

Step onto the shop floor in Smyrna, Tennessee, and you’ll dive straight into the heartbeat of Adenus Technologies—where clean builds, precise wiring, and rock-solid quality power every project. In this shop-based role, you’ll transform schematics and bills of material into impeccably assembled industrial electrical control panels.

A Day in This Role

Your day starts at the bench, laying out back panels and enclosures, confirming your materials, and planning the build. As you progress, you’ll move from mechanical prep to component placement, through neat, consistent wiring, and finish with essential checks that ensure every panel powers up safely and cleanly.

Your Typical Build Includes

• Building and wiring industrial electrical control panels from electrical schematics, panel layouts, bills of material, and shop standards.
• Mounting and wiring components such as wire duct, DIN rail, terminal blocks, breakers, fuses, power supplies, relays, PLC hardware, HMIs, VFDs, transformers, disconnects, and communication devices.
• Drilling, tapping, cutting, and modifying back panels and enclosures as required.
• Routing, bundling, labeling, and terminating conductors neatly and consistently.
• Verifying wire labels, terminal labels, component tags, fuse sizes, breaker sizes, wire colors, wire gauges, and component ratings.
• Installing and verifying grounding, bonding, jumpers, field terminals, communication cables, and control-power wiring.

Quality and Compliance

• Building panels in accordance with UL508A requirements and internal quality standards.
• Performing basic QC checks including pull checks, visual inspections, continuity checks, voltage checks, and providing first power-up support.
• Identifying and communicating drawing issues, missing materials, incorrect parts, or build concerns early so the team can move quickly.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of hands-on experience assembling and wiring industrial electrical control panels.
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and bills of material.
• Experience with proper wire routing, labeling, stripping, crimping, ferrules/lugs, and terminal connections.
• Familiarity with UL508A panel-building practices or experience working in a quality-focused panel shop.
• Comfort using common panel-shop tools including hand tools, power tools, and multimeters.
• Meticulous attention to detail and pride in clean, consistent workmanship.
• Confidence working independently and communicating with engineering, production, and management.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with PLC hardware, HMIs, VFDs, motor starters, relays, power supplies, Ethernet devices, and other industrial control components.
• Experience with panel QC, continuity testing, voltage checks, I/O checkout, or first power-up procedures.
• Knowledge of SCCR labels, panel nameplates, warning labels, and electrical documentation.

Physical & Work Environment

• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work inside control panels for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move tools, materials, and panel components safely.
• Safe operation of hand tools and power tools.
• Comfort working in a shop environment with a focus on quality, safety, and consistency.
