A day in the life

Based in Goose Creek, SC 29445, you arrive ready to protect product integrity using advanced ultrasonic methods. Your morning centers on preparing and calibrating UT instruments so every reading is trustworthy. You move to the production floor, scanning materials and components to uncover internal discontinuities, then step aside to interpret A-scans and B-scans, turning raw signals into clear, actionable insights.

After testing, you compile concise, detailed reports that feed our quality records. You huddle with engineering and production partners to discuss what the data is saying and help shape corrective actions that prevent recurrence. Midday, you contribute to continuous improvement—fine-tuning procedures, suggesting tweaks to fixtures or techniques, and documenting lessons learned. In the afternoon, you may shadow a new teammate, walking through UT procedures and reinforcing safety protocols. Before clocking out, you verify equipment condition and document calibrations, then scan recent publications to stay current on UT tools and standards.

What you’ll do

  • Perform ultrasonic examinations on materials/components to detect defects and confirm compliance with applicable standards.
  • Evaluate and interpret results, translating findings into thorough quality reports.
  • Partner with engineering and production to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain, verify, and calibrate ultrasonic equipment to ensure accurate performance.
  • Support continuous improvement of testing processes and quality benchmarks.
