Ultrasonography

Job Summary:

To provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of ultrasound diagnostic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes.

Major Duties / Critical Tasks:

• Practices proper entries and records on the imaging system and radiology information system.
• Prepares patient for ultrasound procedure by accurately assessing patient's needs and providing patient education.
• Operates ultrasound equipment for data acquisition, reconstruction of images, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
• Prepares patient's films for interpretation by radiologist.
• Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
• Practices safety measures in ultrasound and Environment of Care.
• Applies the profession's code of ethics in all aspects of practice.
• Performs all duties in which individual is licensed to perform under ARRT guidelines.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Supervision:

• Reports To: Site Administrator

Required Education / Experience:

• Associates degree or radiologic graduate and one year related experience.
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program, ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
• One year ultrasound experience or graduate of an ultrasound training program with minimum of 3000 clinical hours of ultrasound training.

• Standard Ultrasound Equipment
• Office equipment

Working Environment:

• Standard Outpatient Environment.
• Some lifting, moving, and positioning of patients and equipment.
