Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach is seeking a full-time Ultrasound-Focused Body Imaging Radiologist to join a busy, full-service radiology department in an academic community hospital environment. This position is primarily focused on diagnostic ultrasound, with additional body imaging opportunities including body CT and MRI based on experience and departmental needs.
The role is ideal for an MD or DO radiologist with ABR board certification and fellowship training or strong experience in ultrasound and body imaging. The position includes clinical interpretation, sonographer supervision, protocol development, and resident teaching in a collaborative hospital-based practice.
Position Highlights
Full-time ultrasound-focused radiology position in Miami Beach
Academic community hospital environment
Primarily diagnostic ultrasound, with additional body CT and MRI available
Onsite/hybrid remote schedule
Broad practice including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, specialty, and cancer center imaging
Teaching role with residents, medical students, and trainees
Collaborative work with radiologists, sonographers, technologists, nurses, and referring clinicians
Diverse case mix including routine, urgent, complex, and oncologic imaging
Responsibilities
Interpret a broad range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations
Support inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and specialty ultrasound services
Provide expertise in abdominal, pelvic, obstetric/gynecologic, vascular, small parts, and soft tissue ultrasound as applicable
Supervise and support sonographers to maintain high-quality imaging standards and efficient workflow
Interpret body CT and MRI studies as appropriate based on experience and departmental needs
Participate in protocol optimization, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary collaboration
Teach and mentor residents, medical students, and other trainees
Communicate clearly and promptly with referring physicians and clinical teams
Qualifications
MD or DO degree
ABR board certified or board eligible
Fellowship training in Body Imaging, Abdominal Imaging, Ultrasound, MRI, or related field preferred
Strong ultrasound experience required
Body CT and MRI experience preferred
Florida medical license, or eligibility to obtain one
Experience teaching residents or working in an academic environment preferred
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to high-quality patient care
Strong mammography skills - preferred but not necessary
