Our client is currently seeking a Ultrasound / Sono Tech – 8‑Hour, Days (8a–5p)

This is a temporary Ultrasound / Sonography Tech position within the Radiology Ultrasonography Department, supporting a high‑risk OB clinic. Strong Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) experience is required. The technologist will function independently while collaborating with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure high‑quality diagnostic imaging and patient care.

This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Verify physician orders and imaging procedures for accuracy
• Perform ultrasound examinations independently according to departmental protocols
• Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and comfort
• Utilize radiology information systems to support patient care and documentation
• Assist radiologists with image‑guided procedures as needed
• Review images for diagnostic quality and accuracy
• Perform quality control procedures in compliance with regulatory standards
• Support departmental operations including inventory, scheduling, and equipment maintenance
• Adapt communication and care approach based on patient population
• Maintain compliance with all safety, privacy, and regulatory requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education and/or Certification Requirement

• Completion of a CAHEA‑approved formal training program in diagnostic medical sonography
• ARDMS certification – current
• Certification by ARDMS in Abdominal and OB‑GYN ultrasound or Cardiac Sonography
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification required within 2 years of hire

Experience Requirement

• Minimum 2 years of sonographer experience
• Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) experience required

Management Requirement

• Ability to work independently while collaborating with radiologists and clinical leadership

Process Oversight Requirement

• Ensure adherence to quality control, safety, and regulatory standards
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with departmental protocols

Specific Skills Requirement

• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of abdominal anatomy including liver, gallbladder, aorta, spleen, kidneys, bile ducts, and pancreas
• Ability to identify pathology during abdominal and OB ultrasound exams

• Potential exposure to hazardous medications or waste
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role (medium work level; lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally)
