Per Diem Ultrasound Sonographer

Any Shift | Level II Trauma Center | Vancouver, WA

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is seeking experienced Ultrasound Sonographers to join our Per Diem (Variable Shift) team. If youre confident, flexible, and ready to make an immediate impact, this role gives you the freedom to work days, nights, evenings, and weekends while supporting a growing community hospital.

Important Note on Availability:

This per diem role is best suited for sonographers who can remain open and flexible with their schedules. Candidates with narrow availability may find this role challenging.

Pay

  • Hourly Pay: $49.36$73.53 (based on experience, education, and contract terms)
  • 15% pay in lieu of benefits
  • Shift Differentials:
  • $3.50/hr evenings
  • $5.00/hr nights
  • $1.00/hr weekends

Schedule & Flexibility

  • Per diem / variable shifts
  • Opportunities to cover days, nights, evenings, weekends
  • Ideal for experienced sonographers seeking flexibility and premium pay
  • The ideal candidate will have open and flexible availability across a variety of shifts. While this is a per diem position, we are not able to support highly restricted schedules.
  • Ability to work days, evenings, nights, and weekends preferred
  • Willingness to cover different shifts based on hospital needs

What Youll Do

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in a hospital and trauma setting
  • Adapt exams to meet individual patient needs
  • Collaborate with physicians for timely, accurate results
  • Maintain equipment, exam rooms, and supplies
  • Accurately document images and findings in the medical record
  • Provide compassionate, professional patient care
  • Support workflow coordination and daily scheduling needs

What Were Looking For

Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound Sonography program (or equivalent education/experience to meet ARDMS requirements)
  • RDMS certification (required within 1 year)
  • State-required licensure/certification (as applicable)
  • BLS certification upon hire
  • Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding

Preferred:

  • Strong general ultrasound experience
  • Vascular and limited OB experience
  • Hospital or trauma experience
  • Broad availability to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends); limited or fixed schedules may not meet department needs
