Job Title: Ultrasound Tech - RDMS Registered
Location: Bronx, NY Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks Employment Type: Contract
Compensation
Pay Rate:$61–$66/hour
Schedule
Shift: Days
Schedule: Weekend Coverage
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Days: Two (2) 7.5-hour shifts per week
Guaranteed Hours: 15 hours per week
Work Setting: 100% Onsite
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) to provide high-quality diagnostic ultrasound services in an acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will perform general ultrasound examinations, produce accurate diagnostic images, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality general diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
Prepare and position patients while explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort.
Produce accurate diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
Evaluate image quality and ensure studies are complete before submission.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Adhere to infection prevention, radiation safety (where applicable), and quality assurance standards.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and organizational policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Qualifications
Education
Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or equivalent military training.
Associate's Degree or equivalent required.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of recent General Ultrasound experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
Experience performing a variety of general diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Required Licensure & Certifications
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS (Required).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred.
