Ultrasound Technologist (Ultrasound Tech / Sonographer)
Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in the evaluation and diagnosis of various medical conditions. The technologist prepares patients for procedures, operates ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images, ensures patient safety and comfort, and collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver accurate and timely diagnostic services.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program required.
Current ARDMS, ARRT (Sonography), or equivalent certification required.
Current state license, if required by the state of practice.
Current BLS certification required.
Recent hospital, outpatient, or acute care ultrasound experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and established imaging protocols.
Obtain high-quality images of anatomical structures for physician interpretation.
Prepare and position patients while ensuring comfort, safety, and privacy throughout procedures.
Evaluate image quality and document findings for radiologist review.
Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
Operate, maintain, and perform quality control checks on ultrasound equipment.
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, HIPAA, and regulatory standards.
Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
