    Job Description:

    Are you an experienced Ultrasound Technologist looking for a new opportunity? Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a technologist at our hospital, you will play a crucial role in providing top-quality patient care.

    Responsibilities:

    • Under the direction of a director or other supervisor, assume responsibility and accountability for producing diagnostic procedures on anatomical regions following accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site radiologist.
    • Maintain a safe environment for patients and conduct patient education as necessary.
    • Follow quality assurance guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
    • Collaborate with all other care disciplines to provide safe, efficient, and coordinated care for patients.
    • Utilize established policies and procedures of WCCH (Wythe County Community Hospital) and maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
    • Recognize and assess changes in mental and/or physical conditions that may result in life-threatening conditions.

    Qualifications:

    • Licensure capable in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Sonographer.
    • Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiographic Technologists (ARRT) designated ARRT (S), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) designated RDMS, or equivalent certification.
    • ARDMS(S) plus ARDS (RVS) and/or RDCS preferred.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
    • At least one year of previous experience in Sonography strongly preferred.
    • Ability to accept on-call assignments for regularly scheduled shifts when acuity and/or census indicates the need. Will be available to report to the facility within 60 minutes of notification. This status will be determined by the Department Director or Administrator on call.
