About the Facility Pin on Health Center (Indian Health Service) Pin on Health Center is part of the Chinle Service Unit within the Indian Health Service (Client) and is located in the heart of the Navajo Reservation in northern Arizona. The center provides comprehensive outpatient care to approximately 11,000 patients the majority of whom are Navajo, including many traditional Navajo who still speak the language. A collegial group of providers offer services in primary care, women's health, counseling, dental, dietary and community nutrition, health promotions, lab, x-ray, native medicine, optometry, pharmacy, physical therapy, speech therapy, podiatry, and public health nursing. The facility operates Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.

Ultrasound Technician RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, vascular, and small parts imaging.
- Produce high-quality sonographic images and document findings accurately for physician interpretation.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in accordance with manufacturer and facility guidelines.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain techniques, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination.
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, and other clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic results.
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Adhere to all infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and continuing education as required.
- Provide culturally sensitive care to a predominantly Native American patient population.
Ultrasound Technician REQUIREMENTS- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification through ARDMS required.
- Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year of clinical ultrasound experience preferred.
- Proficiency in abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular sonography.
- Experience with electronic health records.
- Ability to work independently in a rural healthcare setting.
- Experience serving Native American or tribal communities preferred.
