Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist specializing in High-Risk Obstetrics to perform advanced OB/GYN ultrasound examinations, support physicians with diagnostic imaging and procedures, and provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities
Perform high-risk obstetrical ultrasound examinations, including first trimester ultrasounds, nuchal translucency, dating sonograms, fetal anatomy surveys, fetal biophysical profiles, Doppler studies, placenta evaluations, and other pregnancy-related imaging.
Prepare, schedule, and educate patients regarding ultrasound procedures, addressing questions and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Obtain and review patient history, assess clinical information, and collaborate with physicians to determine the appropriate ultrasound examination.
Assist physicians with ultrasound-guided procedures, including chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis, and other specialized procedures.
Operate ultrasound equipment, optimize imaging parameters, and ensure high-quality diagnostic images while maintaining patient safety.
Document patient encounters, imaging findings, and examination results accurately using Epic EMR and PACS.
Perform routine equipment maintenance, maintain supplies, support quality assurance initiatives, and communicate effectively with supervisors and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of High-Risk Obstetrical Ultrasound experience.
Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist training program or equivalent Military training.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification through ARDMS.
Experience using Epic EMR and PACS.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient education skills with a high level of professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Experience working in a hospital or outpatient OB/GYN setting.
