Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Ultrasound Technologist, you will be proficient in two of the following: echocardiography, vascular sonography and/or sonography. Your tasks and responsibilities include: 

  • You will perform abdominal, pelvic (gynecological & obstetrical) and transvaginal sonograms.
  • You will be proficient at scanning small parts (thyroid, breasts & scrotom) along with ultrasound-guided biopsies, drainage, thoracentesis, paracentesis and aspirations.
  • You will have strong knowledge base in cross sectional anatomy and vasculature.
  • You will display high degree of proficiency of scanning knowledge
  • You will perform upper and lower arterial and venous vascular studies (carotid studies – with measurements and manipulation –augmentations and segmental pressures).
  • You will be proficient in in performing complete echocardiographic studies, which include but are not limited to 2-D mode & color doppler studies. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • High school plus some college, business or technical training
  • BLS certification
  • ARDMS is required (or eligible to sit for exam) for Sonographer
  • RVT Certification preferred (or eligible to sit for exam) for Vascular Sonographer
  • Certification in Vascular Ultrasound by ARRT or ARDMS or CCI (6 months grace period for new hires for Vascular only) ARDCS Certification preferred (or eligible to sit for exam) for Echo Cardiographer
