Ultrasound Technologist (Registered)

Location: New York, NY 10029
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 34.5–42.5 Hours Per Week

We are seeking an experienced Registered Ultrasound Technologist to join a busy imaging department in New York, New York. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in diagnostic ultrasound, including prostate sonography and experience with the VU ultrasound system.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Ultrasound Technologist experience required.

  • ARDMS Certification required.

  • ARRT Certification required.

  • Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field required.

  • Experience with the VU ultrasound system required.

  • Prostate sonography experience required.

  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging procedures and patient safety standards.

  • Proficiency with PACS, healthcare imaging systems, and Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform ultrasound examinations according to departmental protocols.

  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain the imaging process.

  • Operate, adjust, clean, and perform minor maintenance on ultrasound equipment.

  • Capture and transfer diagnostic images to PACS and physician workstations.

  • Assist radiologists during imaging procedures.

  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care.

  • Monitor and maintain adequate imaging supply inventory.

  • Schedule and coordinate patient examinations as needed.

  • Answer phones and assist with departmental administrative duties.

  • Assist with patient transportation coordination when required.

  • Participate in orientation and training of new staff members.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure image quality and accuracy.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership.
