Description
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform Diagnostic Ultrasound Exams: Conduct abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, or other specialized ultrasound scans according to physician orders and departmental protocols.
Prepare and Position Patients: Explain procedures, obtain patient history, and ensure proper positioning for accurate imaging.
Operate Ultrasound Equipment: Adjust settings, capture images, and ensure equipment is functioning safely and effectively.
Evaluate Image Quality: Review images for diagnostic adequacy and identify anatomical structures, abnormalities, or technical issues.
Maintain Patient Records: Document procedures, patient data, and preliminary technical impressions in the imaging system or EMR.
Collaborate With Healthcare Providers: Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other clinical staff to support appropriate patient care.
Ensure Safety and Compliance: Follow infection control protocols, patient confidentiality standards (HIPAA), and ultrasound safety guidelines.
Assist With Department Workflow: Manage patient schedules, prepare exam rooms, and support other technologists as needed.
Maintains strict confidentiality in alignment with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) guidelines and InterMed policies.
Perform other duties to support the mission, vision and values of InterMed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
Experience:
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles
Excellent communication and patient‑care skills
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
License/Certifications:
ARDMS certification (or eligibility to be acquired within 12 months of hire) required
Abdomen, OB/GYN and RVT required, Breast preferred
The estimated compensation range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation plans above and beyond base compensation.
