Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist – OB to perform and assist with ultrasound examinations while providing technical support to radiologists and maintaining ultrasound equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong ultrasound experience, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and current ARDMS and AHA BLS certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations according to established departmental procedures.
Perform ultrasound examinations using appropriate techniques and protocols.
Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Follow appropriate safety precautions to protect patients and staff from electrical and other equipment-related hazards.
Set up, operate, clean, and perform minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment.
Maintain ultrasound equipment and report equipment issues as appropriate.
Ensure adequate supplies are available for ultrasound procedures.
Capture and transfer images to PACS and physician workstations.
Provide technical assistance to radiologists during examinations.
Assist with the orientation and mentoring of new ultrasound personnel.
Answer telephone calls and assist with scheduling examinations.
Assist with patient transportation arrangements when required.
Maintain accurate and organized documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
2+ years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
ARDMS registration required.
AHA BLS certification required.
Strong knowledge of ultrasound procedures and equipment.
Experience with PACS and digital image transfer.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer applications.
Knowledge of general office and administrative practices.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion.
Ability to work effectively with patients, radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in OB ultrasound.
Experience working in a hospital, imaging center, or clinical environment.
Experience mentoring or orienting new ultrasound staff.
Familiarity with electronic medical records and healthcare information systems.
