Ultrasound Technologist

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Duration: 9 Weeks
Schedule: Days — 5×8 Hours, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM

Travel Gross Weekly: $2,400–$2,500/week, based on experience
Local Rate: $60–$64/hour, based on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to perform and assist with ultrasound examinations, provide technical support to Radiologists, and maintain ultrasound equipment in accordance with established departmental procedures and safety standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and examine patients for ultrasound examinations according to established procedures and techniques.
  • Perform ultrasound examinations and provide technical assistance to Radiologists as required.
  • Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment while following appropriate safety precautions to protect patients and personnel.
  • Set up, operate, clean, and perform minor adjustments to ultrasound equipment.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available for examinations and daily operations.
  • Capture and upload ultrasound images to PACS and transfer images to physicians' workstations.
  • Assist with the orientation and mentoring of new Ultrasound personnel.
  • Answer telephone calls and assist with scheduling examinations.
  • Initiate or coordinate patient transportation when required.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas in an appropriate condition.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of office and administrative practices.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers and related software.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion.

Education

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent educational background.

Certifications & Licenses

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • BLS – American Heart Association (AHA)
  • ARDMS registration

Additional Information

  • Day shift position.
  • 5×8-hour schedule.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working with patients, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Compensation varies based on experience and assignment type.
