ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST - WALDENBURG MEDICAL CENTER - CONTINGENT / PRN - ROTATING SHIFT

Schedule: A minimum of three shifts per six week scheduling period, or based on unit practice.

• Under the direction of a Radiologist, specializes in the performance of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to aid in the evaluation of pathological entities as prescribed by a physician.
• Performs related functions according to department protocols.
• Utilizes independent judgment in determining appropriate imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), or eligible candidate to sit for an ARDMS examination.
• The ARDMS defines 'candidate' as an applicant who has met the prerequisites required to sit for an ARDMS examination.
• If eligible candidate, successful completion of SPI, Abdomen, and OB/GYN ARDMS examinations required within 12 months of date of hire.
• Failure to obtain registry within the designated timeframe will result in termination of the Ultrasound Technologist position.
• Must maintain required hours of continued medical education. Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
