UNARMED SECURITY GUARD CROWN POINT VA OUTPATIENT CLINIC

GD Resources LLC is seeking qualified Unarmed Security Guards to provide security, dispatch, access-control, and patrol services at the Adam Benjamin Jr. VA Outpatient Clinic.

Location: 9301 Madison Street, Crown Point, Indiana 46307
Employment: Full-time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Status: Contingent upon contract award and VA approval

Two guards must be on duty simultaneously. Guards will rotate between dispatch and patrol assignments as directed.

Primary Responsibilities

Dispatch Assignment

Continuously staff the security dispatch console.
Monitor CCTV, panic alarms, duress alarms, motion alarms, and other security systems.
Answer security-related telephone calls and dispatch assistance when required.
Assist with PIV physical-access services as authorized.
Maintain the dispatch post except during an extreme incident requiring direct support.

Patrol Assignment

Conduct active patrols of the facility and parking areas at least twice per hour.
Monitor entrances, patients, visitors, employees, and facility grounds.
Identify and report suspicious activity, unauthorized access, hazards, and security concerns.
Support opening and closing procedures, including facility walkthroughs and alarm activation or deactivation.

General Responsibilities

Respond professionally to emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and security incidents.
Use appropriate communication and de-escalation techniques.
Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, witness statements, and other required records.
Follow all VA policies, post orders, standard operating procedures, and privacy requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of experience involving security, public interaction, customer service, or a related field.
Valid Indiana security officer license or ability to obtain all required credentials before starting.
Ability to read and understand written instructions and prepare clear reports in English.
Strong communication, customer-service, dispatch, and de-escalation skills.
Ability to work professionally with veterans and individuals experiencing behavioral-health concerns.
Ability to physically perform patrol and security duties.
No disqualifying criminal record.
Ability to pass company and VA background investigations, including the VA Special Agreement Check.
Ability to obtain a VA identification badge.
Ability to pass required physical, psychological, drug-screening, and tuberculosis-testing requirements.
Ability to be bonded.

Required Training

Selected candidates must complete all required VA orientation, privacy, HIPAA, information-security, dispatch, post-specific, and recurring security training.

Additional Requirements

Employees must wear a company-issued uniform, maintain all required licenses and certifications, and comply with the VA's drug-free, smoke-free, and weapons-free workplace rules.
